Children are much more than passive victims of climate change – they are powerful agents of change active at all levels. Children can make a strong contribution to risk reduction, adaptation and building the resilience of their communities by undertaking climate risk assessments, planning and implementing adaptation and raising awareness of climate risks and solutions. The challenge is clear: Our children’s future is at stake. In the face of unavoidable impacts for the next generation, child-centered adaptation is a necessary element of the global response to climate change.
